The ACE programme has been designed in partnership with the New England Center for Children (NECC), a Boston-based school that has over 40 years of experience in the field of autism and ABA. The programme relies on the teaching methodologies of ABA via the utilization of the Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia, a comprehensive teaching programme developed by NECC.

Applied Behaviour Analysis(ABA)

Applied Behaviour Analysis is a scientifically validated approach based on the principles of behaviour and learning by B.F. Skinner. ABA is based on identifying learning and motivation strategies in different people. It is a data-driven, evidence-based instruction model that has been proved to be hugely successful with people with Autism. At ACE, the ABA model is used to develop effective intervention strategies to teach individuals with Autism a variety of skills including communication, social, academic, self-help and community skills. Data is collected before, during and post an intervention program to assess the effectiveness and make necessary modifications.

In addition to ABA-based intervention, the students also have access to occupational, speech, and physical therapy. The teachers consult the Occupational Therapist (OT) and Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to create a functional curriculum, wherein these therapies are interwoven into a student’s daily activities and learning. The physical therapy programme works towards building a student’s repertoire of common activities like cycling and skating, and sports, such as soccer and basketball. These activities are modified according to an individual’s abilities.
