At ACE, Individualized Educational Programs (IEP) are developed for each student after assessments. Each IEP incorporates a broad range of goals which are targeted through ABA-based programs and curriculum. The following services provide the foundation for ACE’s unique integrated program:

Evidence based, data oriented approach towards interventions targeting behaviour management by reducing rates of challenging behaviour while simultaneously increasing rates of socially appropriate behaviour

BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION

OT services focusing on sensory integration and daily living skills are delivered through a consultative, integrated model. OT needs are addressed through specialized OT services as well as classroom OT goals.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Programs are based on individual need and ability and include vocal speech, manual signs, PECS programs and other augmented communication strategies. Teaching methods include 1:1 discrete trials, incidental teaching opportunities and group activities.

COMMUNICATION THERAPY

Activities of daily living (ADLs) such as toileting, meal skills, toothbrushing etc.; and vocational and community goals are taught using a variety of teaching strategies including task analyses, discrete trial training and incidental teaching opportunities. Students are provided with multiple opportunities across the day to practice the skills and are provided with real-life situations to transfer and generalize skills across environments.

Individual and group sessions target social goals for students (peer interaction, initiating and responding to greetings, turn taking etc.) through discrete trials, incidental teaching and play-based approaches

SOCIAL SKILLS

Leisure and play skills including independent functional play, turn taking, team based sport activities and group games are taught across the day in both 1:1 sessions and during group time.

After the COVID-19 pandemic hit us all, ACE started with its course of Online Mode/ Virtual Therapy. We work with the same techniques and strategies that we do in physical set up, where we target Vocational skills, communication and speech, Behavior Modification, Academic Skills etcetera through Applied Behavior Analysis. In the Virtual mode, parents are also trained to be therapists for their children and it's a way for us to reach out to far out parts of the country.

Academic Skills are core skills that encourage children to become more effecient and better learners. Academic skills at ACE are set and based on the basis of a child's skill set and potential. These skills include Reading, Comprehension, Numbers and Mathematical Operations and Writing.

The vocational program at ACE aims at making individuals with Autism and Developmental Delays, self sufficient through means of education, Job Skills and activities of daily living. These skills may include photocopying, preparing meals, folding laundary, typing, using calculator etectra. These skills are indivialised and are very child specific.

With Parent training, we aim to guide parents with proper evidence based strategies they can use with their child. The Senior Clinical team at ACE is well experienced and trained with these strategies and these trainings are done both online and offline where the clinician teaches the parent to help their children in the best way possible at home settings, or when the therapists aren't around to help.
